As reported by Football Insider, Liverpool are highly interested in signing Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze next summer. The Premier League club believe the attacker would be a great fit in Arne Slot’s system and they are working confidentially on the deal.
Eberechi Eze continues to shine
Eberechi Eze has elevated his career since joining Crystal Palace in 2020. He has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the Premier League at present. With such progress, major European clubs are expected to knock on his doors sooner or later.
Eze netted 11 goals and provided six assists in 31 outings last season. He averaged 3.1 shots, 2 key passes, and 2.6 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). Though Crystal Palace have got a bad start to the new season, the attacking midfielder continues to shine for his side.
The Englishman primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also operate on the wings. He is an excellent dribbler and the passer of the ball. He is also effective at taking set pieces and can create threats on the counterattacks.
Eberechi Eze can enhance Liverpool’s attack
Everyone speculated Liverpool would struggle for some time post Jurgen Klopp era but it has been the opposite. The English giants are off to a great start under the guidance of Arne Slot despite not adding enough quality in the summer window.
To improve their squad further, the Reds are planning to bring Eberechi Eze in the next summer. Though they already have Dominik Szoboszlai for the concerned role, the Hungarian is nowhere near Eze’s qualities in the final third to be fair.
Eze’s addition will add a lot of quality in the final third and help create more goals. He has a £68 million release clause, which shouldn’t be too tough for Liverpool to trigger. The 26-year-old would be a good long-term asset for the team.
