According to Fichajes, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Georgiy Sudakov. The Premier League club believe he could be a perfect replacement for Dominik Szoboszlai, who has yet to convince Arne Slot completely.
Georgiy Sudakov is rising well
Georgiy Sudakov joined Shakhtar Donetsk early in his career and went on to make his senior team debut in 2020. As he was provided with more opportunities in the coming months, he grabbed them with both hands and proved his talent.
Sudakov enjoyed a great time last season where he scored 10 goals and provided six assists in 34 games. His impressive displays helped him get the limelight from major clubs and the fans. He has started this campaign on a strong note with three goals and one assist already to his name.
The Ukranian plays as an attacking midfielder but is also equipped enough to operate as a left winger. He is known for his technicality, decision-making, and attacking nature. He doesn’t shy away from taking the ball and initiating attacks on his own.
Dominik Szoboszlai has limited time
Though Dominik Szoboszlai has been pretty impressive, Arne Slot is not completely convinced. His inconsistency is a bit problem for Liverpool and they would definitely want him to get more direct contributions on the attacking front.
While the Reds are willing to give this entire season to Szoboszlai to prove his stakes, they won’t shy away from going after a replacement if required. For now, the club has identified Georgiy Sudakov as a lucrative option and even sent their scouts to watch the player in action.
Should the Hungarian fail to establish himself by the end of the season and Sudakov, on the other hand, delivers another brilliant season, the English giant will be tempted to sign the latter. Hence, the fans shouldn’t expect any short-term progress in this interest.
