As reported by Fichajes, Premier League club Liverpool have identified West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus as a possible name to replace Mohamed Salah, whose contract runs out at the end of the ongoing campaign.
Mohammed Kudus has adapted well
Mohammed Kudus joined West Ham United last summer from Ajax. He needed little time to settle in the Premier League as he started delivering the goods immediately. He has emerged as one of the best attackers in the English league.
Kudus netted 18 goals and provided seven assists in 48 games last season. He averaged 2 shots, 0.8 key passes, and 3.8 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Ghana attacker is extremely versatile as he can play on both wings, as a striker or even as an attacking midfielder. He is technically sound and is known for his terrific dribbling skills. He creates heft chances apart from providing notable defensive contributions.
Mohammed Kudus is a serious talent
Mohamed Salah‘s contract runs out at the end of the season and there has been no extension yet. Though there are high chances of him extending his stay at Anfield, the intensifying interest from Saudi Arabia can change the situation at any point.
Hence, the Reds must remain prepared and take a baby step in that direction, they have shown interest in Mohammed Kudus. The latter’s impressive performances in the Premier League cannot be ignored by anyone.
The 24-year-old has all the qualities and the temperament to play for any of the top four sides. His explosiveness and high work rate in the final third will add a lot of value. As he is also versatile, his acquisition will be a good surplus for Arne Slot.
Kudus has a long-term contract at West Ham United, which means Liverpool will have to offer a lucrative price to lure him away.
