Aston Villa will welcome Bologna at Villa Park this Tuesday night as they hope to secure a good result at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Villans managed to secure an impressive 3-1 victory over Fulham recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first team for this clash. Both Ezri Konsa and John McGinn could get an opportunity to impress from the start of this game.
4-2-3-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Bologna
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will feature in between the sticks for the West Midlands club after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Diego Carlos will resume his partnership with Pau Torres as they look to maintain a good shape on the defensive end of the pitch.
Ezri Konsa will fill in as the right-back while Lucas Digne looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Emery would allow both of them to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Matty Cash will provide cover for the right-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Amadou Onana and Youri Tielemans will try to anchor the midfield with conviction for Aston Villa this Tuesday night. The hard-working trio of John McGinn, Morgan Rogers and Jacob Ramsey will function just ahead of them as part of Emery’s attack. Both McGinn and Ramsey need to find a way to stretch the opposition backline if the Villans are to create enough chances to secure a convincing win in midweek.
Ross Barkley and Emi Buendia have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will lead the charge for the Midlands outfit up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net after doing so against Fulham recently.
Jhon Duran will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the latter stages if needed.
