According to TBR, Chelsea are closely monitoring Real Madrid Academy graduate Nico Paz. The Premier League club are impressed with the youngster’s progress and might even attempt to sign him in the upcoming transfer windows.
Who is Nico Paz?
Nico Paz is a Real Madrid Academy graduate who was always rated highly. He worked hard and put on impressive performances across level to climb up the ladders. He went on to make his senior team debut in November last year.
Paz had 11 goals and four assists to his name in 38 games last season. However, he signed for Italian side Como ahead of the beginning of this season. He is enjoying a good time putting on good shows under the guidance of Cesc Fabregas.
The Spanish footballer started his career as a centre-back but later moved into the midfield. He now plays as an attacking midfielder but is also capable of donning other offensive roles. He is a smooth toucher and an intelligent player.
Nico Paz’s future remains uncertain
It was surprising to see Real Madrid letting go of Nico Paz this summer. The player is rated highly and has good numbers for the second team. However, Cesc Fabregas might have convinced the youngster to join Como to develop his game faster.
Interestingly, Paz might return to Madrid as the contract reportedly has some clauses which allow the Spanish giant to sign him back. It will be interesting to see what happens with him in the future.
For now, Chelsea and Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 20-year-old. Discussing the Blues, it’s not a surprising thing considering they are still hunting for young talents. The only thing that might hinder their case is that they cannot commit game-time to the player.
Chelsea already have a large squad and it might not be an ideal destination for the attacking midfielder.
