Newcastle United will entertain Arsenal at St. James’ Park this Saturday afternoon as they look to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies earned a solid 2-0 win over Chelsea in the EFL Cup recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to make a few changes to his first XI for this clash. Harvey Barnes, Miguel Almiron and Tino Livramento could all play from the start of this game.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Nick Pope will feature in between the sticks for the Tyneside club after he kept a clean sheet in his last outing. Dan Burn will function alongside Fabian Schar at the heart of the Newcastle backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Tino Livramento will fill in as the right-back while Lewis Hall hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them need to perform their defensive duties well before trying to offer some decent service to the front players.
Emil Krafth and Lloyd Kelly will be available for selection on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.
Midfield
Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali will make up Howe’s midfield as they hope to make life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. All three of them need to be at their best if they are to engineer some inviting chances in the final third.
Sean Longstaff will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Harvey Barnes will get an opportunity to impress as the left-sided wide player while Miguel Almiron looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank. Anthony Gordon will spearhead Newcastle’s attack up top. He has to find a way to cause some problems for the Arsenal centre-backs this weekend.
Alexander Isak is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, William Osula should be named on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
