In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Barcelona are keeping tabs on NK Kustosija midfielder Baye Coulibaly. It has been claimed that the Catalan club are locked in a three-way battle with Real Madrid and Arsenal in the race to land the Malian youngster.
Coulibaly’s Recent Rise In Croat Football
Coulibaly has caught the eye with his performances for the Croat club recently since making a switch from Etoiles Mande earlier this year. The 18-year-old has found the back of the net once in one appearance for NK Kustosija so far.
The Malian whizkid is amongst the best young talents in Croat football at the moment, so it is no surprise that Barcelona are in the race to acquire his services. However, he is still quite raw and would need time to prove his worth at the highest level.
His current contract at the Croat club will run out in the summer of 2027. Hence, the Catalan club would have to make a convincing offer if they are serious about signing Coulibaly next year.
Barcelona Are Keeping Tabs On Coulibaly: Is He A Prospect For The Future?
Coulibaly is a good tackler of the ball and make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and has got the eye to play some decisive passes on the offensive end of the field. However, the Malian talent is still quite inexperienced and would need time before he can make an impact at the Nou Camp if Barcelona manage to get him on board next year.
Coulibaly is primarily a defensive midfielder but can also fill in as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so. However, only time will tell whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga.
At 18, Coulibaly has got the potential to be a future star in Spanish football as long as he continues to develop with each season. All in all, he is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so the Catalan giants should focus on going all out to snap him up this January or at the end of this campaign.
