In a recent report, journalist Mick Brown revealed that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo next year. It has been stated that the Gunners have identified the Cameroonian talent as a transfer target.
Mbeumo’s Impressive Run Of Form In The Premier League This Season
Mbeumo has made a great start to this Premier League campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for Brentford on the right flank. The Cameroonian wide player has scored six times in eight matches for his current employers this season in the Premier League.
The 25-year-old has been a decent performer in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 2.1 shots, 2.0 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opposition half based on his pass success rate of 77.8% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).
Mbeumo is under contract at the English club will expire in the summer of 2026 which could open the door for Arsenal to sign him on the cheap next summer.
What Will Mbeumo Add To Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta’s Side?
Mbeumo is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few promising runs with it out in the wide areas. He can strike the ball with venom and precision from long range and can even set up some inviting chances for his teammates up top.
The Cameroon international is primarily a right-sided wide player but can also operate as a centre-forward if told to do so. He already knows the Premier League well and won’t take much time to adjust to life at the North London club if Mikel Arteta can find a way to bring him on board next year.
We can expect Mbeumo to add more goals and creativity to Arsenal‘s attack. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the Emirates Stadium in the coming years. At 25, Mbeumo has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a worthy target for the Gunners to pursue this winter or at the end of this campaign.
