As we are done with the international break, club football is back on track. In this article, we cover the predicted starting lineup of Manchester City for their away fixture with Wolves in the Premier League this weekend.
The Citizens have accumulated 17 points in seven games so far and are second on the points table. They will be aiming for nothing less than three points as the competition at the top of the table is about to intensify in the coming weeks.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup Vs Wolves
Defence
Ederson should get the green light to feature between the sticks for Manchester City against Wolves.
Rico Lewis is also expected to start as the right-back even though he didn’t have a convincing display in their previous game against Fulham. Pep Guardiola is unlikely to alter anyone in the centre-back duo of Manuel Akanji and Ruben Dias.
Josko Gvardiol remains an undisputed pick for the left full-back role.
Midfield
In the absence of Rodri, Mateo Kovacic somewhat has managed to fill his boots. He has been terrific in recent weeks and the English winners will hope him to continue delivering the goods. Ilkay Gundogan was used in the middle of the park to pair up with the Croatian and no change is expected to take place in this regard as well.
Attack
Kevin De Bruyne will remain sidelined for this clash and it means Phil Foden should continue to operate in the middle with Bernardo Silva providing the width on the right side. However, Jeremy Doku might get the nod ahead of Jack Grealish to operate on the left wing.
Erling Haaland continues to lead the attacking pack and will be hoping to carry on his red-hot scoring form.
