Everton will clash heads with Aston Villa at Villa Park this Saturday evening as they try to grind out a positive result on their travels in the Premier League. The Toffees suffered a tough 3-2 defeat against Bournemouth before the international break which has drained their confidence ahead of this game.
Sean Dyche will set his players up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and is expected to make one change to his first XI for this clash. Ashley Young will get a chance to play from the start of this game as Seamus Coleman is currently struggling with an ankle problem.
4-4-1-1 Everton Predicted Lineup To Face Aston Villa
Defence
Jordan Pickford will function in between the sticks for the Toffees after conceding three goals in his last league appearance. James Tarkowski will function alongside Michael Keane at the centre of the Everton backline as they look to keep a good shape on the defensive end of the field.
Ashley Young will operate as the right-back while Vitaliy Mykolenko looks to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will have to perform their defensive duties well if the Toffees are to stand a chance of claiming something from this clash at Villa Park.
As mentioned earlier, Seamus Coleman is recovering from an ankle injury which makes him a major doubt for this game. However, Jake O’Brien will be named on the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Tim Iroegbunam and Idrissa Gueye will anchor the midfield for Everton as they try to make life tough for the home side in the middle of the park. Jack Harrison will continue to operate on the right wing while Iliman Ndiaye looks to catch the eye on the left flank.
Dwight McNeil will play in the number ten position and is expected to carry most of the creative burden for Everton in the final third.
Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jesper Lindstrom will have to settle for a spot on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will lead the charge for the Merseyside club in the final third. He has to find a way to cause a few problems for the Aston Villa centre-backs this Saturday evening.
Beto will make up the numbers on the bench.
