In a recent report, talkSPORT claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. It has been stated that Spurs would have to rival Manchester United in the race to land the English attacker next year.
Eze’s Impressive Run Of Form In The Premier League Last Season
Eze enjoyed a great campaign at the London club as he put in a handful of eye-catching displays for them in the final third. The English talent found the back of the net on 11 occasions and secured six assists in 31 appearances for the Eagles last season in various competitions.
The 26-year-old proved himself to be a consistent performer in the opposition half and deserves credit for averaging 3.1 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He was even accurate with his ball distribution after completing 83.7% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).
Eze is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.
Will Eze Be A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Ange Postecoglu?
Eze can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range. He has also got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and can make some dangerous runs with the ball in and around the opponent’s penalty box.
The English sensation managed to chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals for the Eagles last season. He is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a winger on either flank if required.
Eze would add plenty of firepower to Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglu’s attack. He has what it takes to secure a regular first-team place at the North London club in the coming years. Therefore, it makes sense for Spurs to try and get a deal done for him this January or at the end of this campaign.
At 26, Eze has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a great choice for Tottenham to consider next year. He already knows the Premier League and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at the North London club.
