In a recent report, Pasion Futbal stated that Tottenham Hotspur have joined the race for Boca Juniors wide player Kevin Zenon. It is believed that the North London club would have to rival Newcastle United in pursuit of the Argentine talent.
Zenon’s Impressive Form In Argentine Football
Zenon enjoyed a decent campaign at the Argentine club after he put in a series of impressive performances for them on the left flank. The 23-year-old banged in four goals and picked up seven assists in 34 matches for Boca Juniors last season in all competitions.
The Goya-born talent has caught the eye with his performances in Argentine football. Therefore, it is no surprise that Spurs are showing interest in bringing him to English football in the future.
Zenon is under contract at Boca Juniors until the end of 2028 which could make it difficult for Tottenham to snap him up on a cut-price deal next year.
Tottenham Hotspur Have Joined The Race For Zenon: Is He Worth The Fight?
Zenon is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can create some inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He can strike the ball with venom from long range and can chip in by scoring and creating a handful of important goals for his team.
The Argentine talent mainly functions as a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a left-back if told to do so. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physical side and high intensity of Premier League football.
We can expect Zenon to bring more quality to Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglu’s attack. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting place at the North London club in the coming years.
At 23, Zenon will only get better with each season which makes him a decent option for Spurs to pursue in the long run. He would be well worth the fight, so the London giants would do well to bring him on board this January or at the end of this campaign. However, Postecoglu has to be patient with his development before he can get the best out of him.
