Ter Stegen Gets 7.5, Garcia With 4 | Barcelona Players Rated In Tough Loss Vs Monaco

Barcelona locked horns with Monaco at the Stade Louis II earlier tonight as they looked to earn a good result on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club made a slow start to the game and went down to ten-men as Eric Garcia was sent off in the tenth minute. Maghnes Akliouche opened the goal-scoring just six minutes later but Lamine Yamal equalised for Barca in the 28th minute. The two sides went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

George Ilenikhena ended up scoring the winning goal in the 71st minute as Hansi Flick’s men crashed to a tough 2-1 loss away from home.

Let’s take a look at how each Barcelona player fared during the clash against Monaco.

GK: Marc-Andre ter Stegen – 7.5/10

The German keeper made a lot of crucial saves at the back but it was not enough in the end.

RB: Jules Kounde – 6.5/10

He did his fair share of defending but offered very little in the opponent’s half.

CB: Pau Cubarsi – 6.5/10

Cubarsi put his foot through the ball when needed but won’t be pleased about conceding twice during the game.

CB: Inigo Martinez – 6.5/10

He performed his defensive duties well and was accurate with his passing.

Casado was a positive influence at both ends of the field and did well to pick up an assist.

CM: Eric Garcia – 4/10

He let his teammates down by getting sent off in the tenth minute.

RW: Lamine Yamal – 7/10

Yamal caught the eye at times and managed to equalise for Barca in the 28th minute.

CAM: Pedri – 6.5/10

He came back to defend when he could but failed to be a threat in the final third.

LW: Raphinha – 6/10

Raphinha had a couple of bright moments in the game but didn’t do enough to register a goal.

He made one decent chance in the final third but never looked like he would find the back of the net.
