In a recent report, Manchester Evening News claimed that Manchester United are keeping tabs on Crystal Palace attacker Eberechi Eze. It is believed that the Red Devils are hoping to move in for the English talent next year.
Eze’s Good Run Of Form In Premier League Football Last Season
Eze enjoyed an impressive campaign at the London club as he was responsible for putting in a run of eye-catching displays for them in the Premier League. The English attacker registered 11 goals and picked up six assists in 31 matches for Crystal Palace last season in various competitions.
The 26-year-old was a decent performer in the final third based on his average of 3.1 shots, 2.0 key passes and 2.6 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after making 83.7% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
Eze is under contract at Selhurst Park until the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for the Red Devils to sign him on the cheap next year.
Should Manchester United Boss Erik Ten Hag Snap Eze Up Next Year?
Eze is a good dribbler with the ball and can make some eye-catching runs with the ball in the opponent’s half. He usually generates some power with his shot attempts from long range and can chip in by scoring a handful of important goals for his team.
The London-born talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also play as a left-sided wide player if required. He already knows the Premier League well by now and won’t take much time to settle into life at Old Trafford if Man United manage to bring him on board this January or at the end of this season.
Eze would no doubt enhance the quality of Erik ten Hag’s attack. He has what it takes to compete for a regular starting place at the Mancunian club. At 26, Eze is about to enter his prime which makes him a decent option for Man United to pursue next year.
Eze might even help Man United challenge for a top-four spot in the Premier League over the next few seasons. Therefore, the Red Devils would be wise to snap him up soon.
