Manchester City Star Could Push To Join Real Madrid Next Summer: How Can This Happen?

As per a report published by Defensa Central, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland could push a move to Real Madrid next summer. However, many things should fall in happen for the player to demand such a surprising transfer.

Erling Haaland is breaking records day in and out

Erling Haaland came into the limelight during his stint at Borussia Dortmund. He was breaking records and was considered the next big thing. Hence, Manchester City splashed a big amount to acquire him ahead of the 2022-23 season.

Haaland continued his progress in the Premier League and played an instrumental role in the Citizens’ success. He featured in 45 games, netting 38 goals and providing five assists last season. He averaged 3.9 shots, 0.9 interceptions, and 0.4 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

The Norwegian is arguably the best striker in the world at present. He is extremely fast, physically dominant, and possesses world-class finishing abilities. He has been improving his link-up play, which makes him an even better version of himself.

Upcoming months after important for Manchester City

Real Madrid have collected a star-studded squad with Kylian Mbappe being the latest addition. They look to maintain their domination in European football and wouldn’t mind adding a few more superstars. Interestingly, they remain interested in Erling Haaland as they don’t have any identical striker yet.

Though it’s tough to imagine that Manchester City will let Haaland leave that easily, it could happen given a certain situation arises. The English giants have been accused with 115 charges and the verdict of the case should come by the end of this year.

If the Citizens are found guilty, they could face a demotion. Moreover, Pep Guardiola is likely to depart the club following the conclusion of the ongoing season, which adds to uncertainty in the scene. Hence, the 24-year-old could be forcing his move to Real Madrid next summer if he finds instability at Etihad Stadium. There is a clause in his contract which allows him to join a non-English club for a reasonable price.
