In a recent report, journalists Danny Rust and Dean Jones mentioned that Manchester City are planning to recruit Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala. It has been stated that the Mancunian club have identified the Germany international as a target for next summer’s transfer window.
Musiala’s Good Run Of Form In The Bundesliga
Musiala enjoyed a good campaign at the Bavarian club recently after he produced a string of productive displays for them in the final third. The 21-year-old banged in 12 times and earned eight assists in 38 matches for Bayern Munich last season across various competitions.
The German sensation was a reliable performer in the opposition half and did well to average 2.4 shots, 1.8 key passes and 3.6 dribbles per game in the Bundesliga. He was even careful when distributing possession based on his pass completion rate of 81.9% in the German first division (stats via whoscored).
Musiala’s current deal at the Allianz Arena will run out in the summer of 2026 which would make it tough for Man City to recruit him on a cut-price deal next year.
Will Musiala Be A Good Option For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?
Musiala is a good dribbler with the ball and can make some dangerous runs with it in and around the opponent’s penalty box. He can shoot the ball purely and with power from long range. The German sensation can even orchestrate some meaningful openings for his teammates up top. However, he needs to find a way to be more productive in front of the opponent’s goal.
Musiala mainly operates in the number ten position but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so by his manager. We can expect him to bring a lot of quality to Man City boss Pep Guardiola‘s attack in the long run.
At 21, Musiala has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, Man City would do well to get a deal done for him at the end of this campaign. Musiala might even help the Mancunian giants compete for a lot of major honours over the next decade. Hence, he would be an excellent option for Guardiola to consider next summer.
