According to TBR Football, Liverpool have joined the race for Boca Juniors talent Kevin Zenon. The Premier League club even sent their scouts to watch the youngster in action in the recent games of the Argentine side.
Who is Kevin Zenon?
Kevin Zenon is one of the most exciting talents coming out from Argentina recently. He joined Boca Juniors after receiving a recommendation from Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge. He made his senior team debut in 2020 and established himself as a reliable name in recent seasons.
Zenon featured in 35 games, netting four goals and providing seven assists. He averaged 1 shot, 1.1 key pass, and 1.1 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Argentine plays in the midfield but can operate as a winger or a left-back. He is an energetic runner with the ball and possesses good dribbling skills. He is also effective at taking set pieces but needs to work on certain areas.
Kevin Zenon wants to play in Europe
Liverpool had a quiet summer transfer window where they signed only two names. It’s evident that they are planning big for the upcoming windows. The club would surely love to invest some young talents and nourish them for future use.
The Reds have a proven record of converting talents into world-class performers. Their interest in Kevin Zenon shouldn’t come as a surprise. The youngster has high potential and is versatile enough to don up different roles in the left side of the pitch. He can be a long-term asset for the club if he manages to develop his game further.
The 23-year-old is expected to leave the Argentine squad next year. He has a £12.7m release clause on his contract, which shouldn’t be a big deal for Liverpool to trigger. However, they will have to beat the likes of Newcastle United, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur in the race.
