Manchester City will entertain Inter Milan at the Etihad Stadium this Wednesday night as they look to secure a victory at home in the UEFA Champions League. The Mancunian giants managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 win over Brentford recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Pep Guardiola will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Josko Gvardiol, Matheus Nunes and Ruben Dias will all get a chance to play from the start of this contest at the Etihad.
4-2-3-1 Manchester City Predicted Lineup To Face Inter Milan
Defence
Ederson will feature in goal for Man City after he conceded a goal against Brentford in his last outing. Ruben Dias will operate alongside Manuel Akanji at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they try to keep a clean sheet at home in the Champions League this week.
Kyle Walker will continue to play as the right-back while Josko Gvardiol hopes to give a good account of himself on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
John Stones will drop to the bench as he offers cover for the centre-back positions.
Midfield
Matheus Nunes and Rodri will operate as Man City’s holding midfielders as they focus on establishing their dominance over the opposition at the centre of the park. The gifted trio of Jeremy Doku, Kevin de Bruyne and Bernardo Silva will function just ahead of them as part of Guardiola’s attack. All three of them need to be at their best if Man City are to secure a dominant win versus Inter in midweek.
Mateo Kovacic, Ilkay Gundogan and Savio will be named on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if Guardiola opts to call upon their services.
Attack
Erling Haaland will once again spearhead Man City’s attack on his own up top. The Norway international would be eager to keep his good form going after bagging a brace in his last appearance.
Phil Foden will have to settle for a spot on the bench as he waits for his chance to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
