Manchester City entertained Watford at the Etihad Stadium earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result at home in the EFL Cup. Pep Guardiola‘s men made a good start to the contest and scored the opening goal in the fifth minute when Jeremy Doku found the back of the net. Matheus Nunes doubled Man City’s advantage in the 38th minute as the home side went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.
Watford got a goal back thanks to Tom Ince’s late goal. However, Man City hung on to their advantage and earned a narrow 2-1 victory at the Etihad.

Doku opened the goal-scoring in the fifth minute and was a threat at times in the Watford half.

He caused a few headaches for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him.

Nunes was a constant menace in the final third and did well to double his team’s lead in the 38th minute.
