Liverpool will entertain West Ham United at Anfield this Wednesday night as they hope to secure a victory at home in the EFL Cup. The Reds managed to earn an impressive 3-0 win over Bournemouth recently which should give them a ton of confidence ahead of this cup clash in midweek.
Arne Slot will set his players up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make a lot of tweaks to his starting XI for this game. Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones would all get a chance to impress from the start of this contest at Merseyside.
4-2-3-1 Liverpool Predicted Lineup To Face West Ham United
Defence
Caoimhin Kelleher will feature in between the sticks for the Reds after keeping a clean sheet in his last appearance. Jarell Quansah could get a chance to impress alongside Joe Gomez at the centre of the Liverpool defence as they try to keep things solid at the back throughout the game.
Conor Bradley would get a chance to shine as the right-back while Kostas Tsimikas looks to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Ibrahima Konate and Andy Robertson will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Wataru Endo and Curtis Jones will operate as the holding midfielders for the Merseyside club as they look to retain possession well in the middle of the park. The gifted trio of Cody Gakpo, Dominik Szoboszlai and Federico Chiesa will play just ahead of them as part of Slot’s attack. All three of them will be responsible for finding holes in the West Ham backline this Wednesday night.
Alexis Mac Allister, Mohamed Salah and Ryan Gravenberch are expected to get a well-deserved rest on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Diogo Jota will spearhead the Liverpool attacker on his own up top. The Portuguese striker failed to feature in the recent win over Bournemouth, so we can expect him to be keen on finding the back of the net this week.
Darwin Nunez will be named on the bench.
