Chelsea will entertain Barrow at Stamford Bridge this Tuesday night as they hope to secure a win at home in the EFL Cup. The Blues managed to earn an impressive 3-0 win away at West Ham United recently which should keep them in good spirits ahead of this game.
Enzo Maresca will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and could make some changes to his starting XI for this contest. Joao Felix will probably get the nod to lead the line for the West London club up top.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup To Face Barrow
Defence
Filip Jorgensen will operate in goal for Chelsea as he looks to keep a clean sheet at Stamford Bridge in midweek. Benoit Badiashile might get a chance to impress alongside Tosin Adarabioyo at the centre of Maresca’s defence as they look to keep the opposition attackers frustrated throughout the game.
Axel Disasi will function as the right-back while Renato Veiga hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the Barrow half.
Levi Colwill will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Moises Caicedo will anchor the midfield for Chelsea as they try to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Pedro Neto, Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk will play just ahead of them as part of Maresca’s attack. All three of them need to move the ball well in the opposition half if they want to create some inviting chances to win this cup game.
Enzo Fernandez will be rested on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second half if required. However, Romeo Lavia is unlikely to be ready in time for this clash.
Attack
Joao Felix will lead the charge for the Blues up top. The Portuguese talent has to find a way to be a constant menace in the final third.
Nicolas Jackson will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the latter stages of the game if Chelsea are in need of a goal by then.
