In a recent report, Jeunes Footeux mentioned that Everton have made contact to land Yusuf Yazici who is currently a free agent. It has been mentioned that the Toffees are showing interest in signing the Turkish attacker on a free transfer this month.
Yazici’s Impressive Form In French Football
Yazici enjoyed a decent campaign at Lille recently after he put in a series of impressive performances for them in Ligue 1. The 27-year-old managed to score 12 times and earned four assists in 42 matches for the French club last season across multiple competitions.
The Turkish talent did well to average 1.5 shots, 0.7 key passes and 0.5 dribbles per 90 minutes in Ligue 1. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 79.2% in the French top tier (stats via whoscored).
Yazici is currently a free agent which makes him an affordable option for the Toffees to pursue this month.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Get Yazici On Board?
Yazici is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with the ball in the opposition half. He has got the eye to create the odd chance for others around him and can shoot the ball with power from long range.
The Turkish sensation can chip in by scoring his fair share of goals up top. Yazici is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a striker or as a right-winger if needed. However, it remains to be seen whether he can adapt to the physical style and high intensity of Premier League football if the Toffees manage to snap him up soon.
Yazici would add more firepower to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s attack. He could go on to form a decent partnership with Dominic Calvert-Lewin at Goodison Park in the future.
Thus, it makes sense for Everton to try everything they can to lure Yazici to Merseyside this month. He might even help the Toffees challenge across all fronts in the coming years.
All in all, the Merseyside club would be wise to go all out to get him on board if they are planning to improve their frontline. However, Dyche would have to be patient with his progress as the player would need time to adjust to life in English football.
