Hence, the Blues felt that the player still needed more time to develop before becoming a complete package. To solidify the important position, the club wanted to sign highly-rated Victor Osimhen. However, the deal didn’t go through due to complications in the negotiations.

Chelsea were ready to offer a big sum but not meet the unrealistic demands of Napoli. Moreover, Osimhen also wanted a high salary to play at Stamford Bridge. In the end, all the parties failed to crack a deal within the deadline.

Nicolas Jackson can change the club’s mind

Interestingly, Nicolas Jackson has started this season on a strong note as he has already netted four goals in six outings. This shows the improvement he has brought to his name. While many speculated that Chelsea might not be tempted to go after a striker now that has proved to be wrong.

As the report states the Blues aren’t still convinced with Jackson and are exploring other strikers in the market. The English giants are in constant touch with Victor Osimhen‘s agent to find out ways to acquire the player’s services.

Chelsea also have the likes of Sporting Lisbon’s Viktor Gyokeres, Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins and RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko on the list. It remains to be seen if Jackson will be able to change the management’s mind by the end of the season or not.
