Chelsea Plotting A Winter Move For This Star Striker: A Golden Opportunity?

As reported by journalist Ben Jacobs, Premier League club Chelsea are considering making a winter move for Victor Osimhen. He states that the contract allows the striker to leave Galatasaray in January should an appropriate offer arrive.

Victor Osimhen wants to leave Napoli permanently

Victor Osimhen is one of the highly-rated strikers in the world of football at present. He joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 from Lille and started hitting a different level. He unleashed his best version while helping his side script history.

However, things have taken an ugly turn in recent years. The striker is no longer wanted at Napoli despite his heroic performances. Last season, he netted 17 goals and provided four assists in 32 games. He averaged 3.6 shots, 0.9 key passes, and 0.6 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).

The Nigerian striker is a physically dominant forward with a good pace. He makes decent in behind runs and exploits the spaces well. With great technical abilities, clinical finishing, and aerial dominance, he is a complete package.

Chelsea are considering a winter move

Chelsea and Saudi Pro League club Al Ahli were heavily chasing Victor Osimhen in the summer. While the former wanted a new striker, the latter wanted to bring the player to improve their league’s quality. However, they both failed to materialize the deal due to high costs and complex negotiations.

As Osimhen wasn’t in the plans of Napoli for this season, he was then loaned out to Galatasaray for the entire season. However, as per recent reports, the Blues will have a golden opportunity to acquire his services in January.

Reportedly, there is a clause in the 25-year-old’s contract, which allows him to sign for another club. His release clause has already been reduced to €75 million from a mammoth €130 million. Chelsea will surely try cracking a deal in the winter to end his saga.
