Beto To Start, Calvert-Lewin On The Bench | 4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Southampton

Everton will welcome Southampton at Goodison Park this Tuesday night as they hope to secure a positive result at home in the EFL Cup. The Toffees suffered a tough 3-2 loss away at Aston Villa recently, so they would be eager to bounce back with a win in this midweek cup clash.

Sean Dyche will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to make a handful of changes to his first XI for this game. Beto could get a chance to spearhead Everton’s attack up top while Dominic Calvert-Lewin gets a rest on the bench.

Defence

Jordan Pickford will function in between the sticks for Everton after shipping in three goals in his last outing. Jake O’Brien could get a chance to impress alongside James Tarkowski at the centre of Dyche’s defence as they try to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.

Ashley Young could fill in as the right-back while Roman Dixon hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the right-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.

Michael Keane will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Idrissa Gueye and James Garner will operate as the holding midfielders as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park. The talented trio of Dwight McNeil, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jesper Lindstrom will play just ahead of them as part of Everton’s attack. All three of them need to pass the ball well if they want to create some decent chances in the final third.

Jack Harrison and Tim Iroegbunam will be named on the bench as they wait for their chance to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Beto will lead the line for the Merseyside club on the offensive end of the field. He has to figure out a way to be a constant menace in and around the Southampton penalty box.

As mentioned earlier, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be rested on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if the Toffees are in need of a goal by then.
