In a recent report, Fichajes claimed that Barcelona are showing interest in Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman. It has been mentioned that the Catalan club are eyeing a move to bring the French wide player to the Nou Camp next year.
Coman’s Impressive Form In German Football
Coman has made a decent start to this campaign as he has managed to put in a couple of impressive displays for Bayern in the final third. The French talent has featured in six matches for the Bavarian club this season, scoring one goal and grabbing one assist on all fronts.
The 28-year-old has made most of his appearances off the bench but has done well to average 1.0 shots, 1.2 key passes and 2.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half after making 87.5% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the German club will run out in the summer of 2027. Thus, it won’t be easy for Barcelona to get a deal done for him on the cheap next year.
Should Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick Snap Coman Up?
Coman is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it in the final third. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the opposition half and can strike the ball well from long range.
However, the French talent has to find a way to be more productive in front of the opponent’s goal. Still, there is no denying that Coman is versatile as he is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also operate as a right-winger if asked to do so.
We can expect Coman to add more firepower to Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s attack. At 28, the French sensation is about to enter his prime which makes him a worthy target for the Catalan club to consider next year.
However, it remains to be seen whether Coman can make a smooth transition to life in Spain. Still, the pros outweigh the cons of recruiting him, so Flick should focus on snapping him up soon.
