Newcastle United will entertain Tottenham Hotspur at St. James’ Park this Sunday afternoon as they look to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Magpies secured a penalty shootout win over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup recently which should give them some confidence ahead of this game.
Eddie Howe will set his side up in a 4-3-3 formation and is expected to name a strong first-team for this clash. Sandro Tonali could get a chance to impress from the start of this game while Sean Longstaff has to settle for a place on the bench.
4-3-3 Newcastle United Predicted Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Nick Pope will feature in between the sticks for the Magpies after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Emil Krafth will probably get a chance to resume his defensive partnership with Dan Burn as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Tino Livramento will try to prove his worth as the right-back while Lewis Hall hopes to impress on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will get the license to get forward and join in on the attack at every chance they get.
Matt Targett and Lloyd Kelly will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Howe could opt for a midfield three of Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali for this game. All three of them need to work hard on winning the 50-50 battles at the centre of the park and will also be responsible for offering some decent service to their teammates up top.
Sean Longstaff has to be content with a place on the bench and might come to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Harvey Barnes would get a chance to put in a productive display on the left flank while Anthony Gordon hopes to make a difference from the right. Alexander Isak will lead the charge for the Tyneside club down the middle. He has to figure out a way to be a content menace in the Tottenham half.
Miguel Almiron will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the game if needed.
