In a recent report, Al-Yaum mentioned that Spain international and Al-Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte wants to join Real Madrid this summer. It has been revealed that the Spanish centre-back and his agent have opened talks with the Saudi outfit to terminate his contract as he wants to join Los Blancos in this transfer window.
Laporte’s Impressive Form For Both His Club And Country
The 30-year-old has got a wealth of experience at the highest level and did well to help his nation win the UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany recently. Laporte has made 39 appearances for Al-Nassr so far, scoring four goals and grabbing one assist in all competitions.
The Spain international has been a rock at the back for the Saudi outfit but could be enticed to seal a move back to Spain if Real Madrid decide to go for him this off-season. His current contract at Al-Nassr will run out in the summer of 2026 which could make it difficult for Los Blancos to snap him up this summer.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Move In For Laporte?
Laporte is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the offensive and excels at playing his way out from the back.
Standing at 1.91m, the Spanish talent can use his strong frame to win a few 50-50 aerial duels for his team. He already knows La Liga well from his previous spell at Athletic Bilbao and won’t take much time to settle into life at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
Laporte would add more bite and steel to Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti’s defence. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the Madrid club next season. Therefore, it makes sense for Ancelotti to consider moving in for him before the end of this transfer window.
At 30, Laporte has still got a few good years left in him to play at his best, so Real Madrid would be wise to sign him on a short-term contract ahead of the new campaign.
