Chelsea bounced back after a disappointing start to the season as they thrashed Servette 2-0 in the Europe Conference League playoffs. Their next tie is scheduled against Wolves this Sunday at the Molineux Stadium.
The Blues will look to carry the confidence and continue the momentum when they take onto the field this weekend. It will be a crucial game for them as they will look to register their first win in the domestic league this season.
4-2-3-1 Chelsea Predicted Lineup Vs Wolves
Defence
Robert Sanchez will return between the sticks in place of Filip Jorgensen. Boss Enzo Maresca already made it clear that the former would be preferred in league games. Malo Gusto is also set to walk back into the line and take up the right-back role.
The duo of Wesley Fofana and Levi Colwill make the heart of the defence. They weren’t up to the mark against Manchester City and will be desperate to prove themselves this time. No doubts over the left full-back position as Marc Cucurella remains unchallenged.
Midfield
Romeo Lavia has been ruled out of the remainder of the season due to an injury. Hence, Enzo Fernandez is likely to drop deeper and perform his role. He should be partnering up with Moises Caicedo in the middle of the park.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is also an option in the midfield but will be kept on the bench for later use.
Attack
Pedro Neto looked lightning in his first game and is expected to start this game. On the other hand, Noni Madueke was brilliant coming off the bench and must be awarded a position in the starting line-up. Chelsea are sweating over the fitness of Cole Palmer, who suffered a knock. If fit, he starts in the middle without any second thought.
Nicolas Jackson continues to lead the attacking pack. He scored against the Citizens but also missed a couple of decent chances. Should he be more clinical around the penalty box, the Blues will look different as a unit.
