West Ham United will entertain Manchester City at the London Stadium this Saturday evening as they hope to secure all three points at home in the Premier League. The Hammers secured a narrow 1-0 win over Bournemouth in midweek which should give them some confidence ahead of this game.
Julen Lopetegui will set his men up in a 4-1-4-1 formation and is expected to make some changes to his first XI for this game. Lucas Paqueta and Mohamed Kudus will both get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.
4-1-4-1 West Ham United Predicted Lineup To Face Manchester City
Defence
Alphonse Areola will operate in goal for West Ham after being rested in midweek. Konstantinos Mavropanos will play alongside Max Kilman at the heart of Lopetegui’s defence as they try to keep the Man City forwards frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka will try to give a good account of himself as the right-back while Emerson Palmieri hopes to catch the eye on the other side as the left-back. Both of them would have to perform their defensive duties well before trying to offer some support to the front players.
Jean-Clair Todibo will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.
Midfield
Guido Rodriguez will operate as the defensive midfielder as he focuses on offering adequate protection for his teammates at the back. Both Lucas Paqueta and Tomas Soucek will assume the duties of the box-to-box midfielders. Lopetegui would ask them to retain possession well at the centre of the park.
Mohamed Kudus could get a chance to shine as the left-sided wide player while Jarrod Bowen looks to put his pace to good use on the right flank.
James Ward-Prowse and Crysencio Summerville will have to be content with a place on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second half if required.
Attack
Niclas Fullkrug will lead the line for West Ham in the final third. He failed to register a goal in midweek, so we can expect him to be eager to cause some problems for the Man City centre-backs this weekend.
Michail Antonio will make up the numbers on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if needed.
