After starting off the season with a 1-1 draw against Leicester City, Tottenham Hotspur bounced back in the very next game. They thrashed Everton 4-0 at home to register their first Premier League win of the 2024-25 campaign.
Spurs will next lock horns with Newcastle United in an away fixture this Sunday. It will be a tough challenge for them and an opportunity to test themselves. Ange Postecoglou’s side will look to continue their momentum when they take onto the field on the weekend.
4-2-3-1 Tottenham Hotspur Predicted Lineup vs Newcastle United
Defence
Apart from one save, Guglielmo Vicario didn’t have much to do in the previous game. He will be hoping to keep another clean sheet when he takes charge between the sticks. No reason to alter anything at the right-back position as Pedro Porro has been doing really well.
While Cristian Romero continues at the heart of the defence, Ange Postecoglou might be forced to change his partner. Micky van de Ven could miss the game due to a knee injury and Radu Dragusin is the front-runner to replace him. Destiny Udogie will operate as the left full-back if he remains fit.
Midfield
Yves Bissouma and James Maddison enjoyed a good game against Everton in the middle of the park. A change can take place in the midfield with the start of Pape Matar Sarr. Rodrigo Bentancur will be unavailable due to concussion protocol.
Attack
Dejan Kulusevski is likely to be used in the offensive line with Son Heung-min taking care of the left flank. In the middle, Brennan Johnson might be deployed, sending Wilson Odobert to the bench.
Apart from Richarlison, Dominic Solanke is also unavailable for the clash due to an ankle injury.
