After a disappointing show against Manchester City in the FA Community Shield, Manchester United bounced back. They opened their Premier League 2024-25 season campaign with a narrow win over Fulham last week at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils will next lock horns with Brighton this weekend in an away fixture. Erik Ten Hag’s side will try to make it two wins in a row. However, it won’t be an easy fixture for them considering how Brighton played in their first game of the season.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup Vs Brighton
Defence
Andre Onana will continue to operate in between the sticks. Though he did fine against Fulham, his distribution needs to be improved. On the other hand, Noussair Mazraoui enjoyed a good time in his debut and should be rewarded with another start as a right-back.
In the absence of Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot is a straight pick for the left full-back role. While Lisandro Martinez continues to solidify his spot, Harry Maguire limped off the pitch last week. It might allow Matthijs de Ligt to make his first start for Manchester United.
Midfield
The duo of Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo is expected to be in action once again. The veteran has got a good start to the season while the youngster remains a valuable pick in the middle of the park.
Alejandro Garnacho didn’t look completely fit coming off the bench. Hence, Amad Diallo is supposed to get another start in the lineup despite not being convincing enough. No doubts over Bruno Fernandes’ deployment in the middle of the attack with Marcus Rashford taking care of the left wing.
Attack
Joshua Zirkzee dropped a match-winning performance coming off the bench. He linked up well in the final third and also scored the only goal in the match. As Rasmus Hojlund remains sidelined, Zirkzee is in contention to find himself in the starting lineup.
