Everton had a disastrous start to the season as they lost 3-0 at the hands of Brighton in the Premier League. To make things worse, they are lined up to play Tottenham Hotspur in an away fixture this weekend.
Sean Dyche’s starting line-up looks unbalanced after they lost Amadou Onana to Aston Villa and the uncertainty around Jarrad Branthwaite’s future. However, they don’t have much time to worry about the uncontrollable and need to regroup pretty quickly.
4-2-3-1 Everton Predicted Lineup Vs Tottenham Hotspur
Defence
Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford couldn’t have done much about the goals. Instead, they made a couple of good saves to avoid further damage. Everton’s most experienced player, Ashley Young, was booked with a red card against Brighton.
It means he will be sidelined for this game and Mason Holgate is likely to fill his spot. Michael Keane and James Tarkowski should continue to play in the middle of the defence. They will have to be at their best to keep Spurs attackers in check. Vitalii Mykolenko retains his position as the left-back.
Midfield
Tim Iroegbunam was impressive on Saturday night despite the team’s poor performance. He should again partner up with Idrissa Gueye, who needs to step up with his game.
Dyche would hesitate to alter anyone in the offensive pack. While Jack Harrison operates on the right wing, expect Dwight McNeil to continue his work on the left side. Abdoulaye Doucoure as usual will be lined up to play behind the striker and support the midfield.
Attack
Dominic Calvert-Lewin leads the Toffees in the final third as he remains an important member of the squad. He will have to be at his best to extract goals for his side this Saturday.
