According to Brazilian journalist Bruno Andrade, Manchester United are keeping tabs on Gremio wonderkid Gabriel Mec, who has been linked to Chelsea. The Red Devils could make an attempt to lure away the youngster soon.
Who is Gabriel Mec?
Gabriel Mec came through the ranks of Germio’s youth setup. Looking at his potential, he was always rated highly within the club. Many even consider that he is the best talent to come out of the Brazilian outfit since Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.
Mec featured in six games last season and found the back of the net once. He currently plays for the U20 side and is yet to make his senior team debut. But a maiden call-up should be on the cards as the senior side has been struggling to win games.
The Brazilian starlet is versatile enough to play any spot in the front line. He is known for his speed, dribbling, change of direction, and trickery. Many state that he resembles Neymar when it comes to playing style on the field.
Manchester United can hijack the deal
Manchester United used to depend on ready-made performers to strengthen their unit. However, the strategy has seen a change ever since the new owners came to the helm of affairs. Now the club also focuses on hiring young talents.
The Red Devils’ next target is Gabriel Mec, who is one of the best talents available in Brazil. The player has been heavily linked to Chelsea as the latter even presented a bid. They offered an initial fee of €7 million, plus an additional €7m in potential add-ons.
However, Gremio rejected the offer demanding that they want at least €10 million in fixed. As the talks haven’t advanced forward, Manchester United has an opportunity to hijack the deal. They can approach the player and make a convincing offer to acquire the youngster.
