As per Football Insider, Manchester City have hijacked West Ham striker Divin Mubama’s move to Portugal. The player will now join the Premier League champions as they have sealed a deal in place worth £1.5 million with all parties happy.
Who is Divin Mubama?
Divin Mubama came through the ranks of West Ham United Academy. He made his senior team debut in the 2023 UEFA Europa Conference League against AEK Larnaca. However, he mainly represented their U21 side with senior team appearances at intervals.
Mubama is considered a great talent, who can have to bright future. He featured in 19 games last season and found the back of the net four times. Earlier, he announced to leave the English club following the end of his contract this summer.
The English footballer is a traditional number nine with strong ball hold-up ability. He is excellent with his finishing touches around the penalty box and also makes his aerial presence feel. He is equipped well to do neat work in tight spaces.
Manchester City need depth in the offensive unit
Manchester City have proven records of nourishing the young blood into world-class performers. Their pursuit of Divin Mubama makes sense as the player is extremely talented. If polished well, he can serve the club to continue their dominance.
Mubama’s signing has also come true due to the departure of Julian Alvarez. As the Argentine striker has left for Atletico Madrid, the Citizens need someone who can provide cover for Erling Haaland, who missed decent games last season due to an injury.
The injuries to Oscar Bobb and Savinho also added fuel to the plans as Manchester City might be tempted to do another signing. Talking about Mubama, it’s a great move for him to lift his professional career. He might not be integrated into the senior team but can play for the U23 squad regularly.
