According to Football Insider, Liverpool are working on signing Napoli attacker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia this summer. The Premier League club could be submitting an official bid soon to lure away the youngster before the window closes.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is on a good run
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia signed for Napoli from Dinamo Batumi in the summer of 2022. In his debut season, he helped the Italian club win the Serie A title. Last season, though they failed to defend their league title, the player did decently well.
Kvaratskhelia is already an established member of Napoli’s squad. He featured in 45 games last season, netting 11 goals and providing nine assists. He averaged 1.9 shots, 2.1 key passes, and 3.2 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored).
The Georgian is an extremely talented winger, who plays on the left side. He can dribble, provide key passes or do the finishing touches near the penalty box. With the use of acceleration and body feints, he becomes a tough forward to stop.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s deal is unlikely to happen this summer
Liverpool have been linked to multiple names over the past few months but no deal could be materialized. Surprisingly, they have failed to bring any prominent name to the club in this summer transfer window.
With just a week remaining before the window closes, the Reds are dreaming about signing Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The choice makes sense as they need more quality in wide areas. But it’s highly unlikely that both parties will be able to reach an agreement in such a short time.
Napoli wouldn’t want to lose their hot property easily and that too without proper negotiations. It’s evident that the fans will settle for the current squad and shouldn’t expect any newcomer at the last moment. Though Liverpool does have all the resources and required qualities to succeed this season.
