Manchester United will entertain Fulham at Old Trafford this Friday night as they try to secure all three points at home in the opening game of this Premier League campaign. The Red Devils suffered a tough loss on penalties against Manchester City in the Community Shield recently, so they would be eager to secure a win this week.
Erik ten Hag will set his men up in a 4-2-3-1 formation and is expected to name a strong first XI for this game. Alejandro Garnacho will get a chance to play from the start of this contest at the Theatre of Dreams.
4-2-3-1 Manchester United Predicted Lineup To Face Fulham
Defence
Andre Onana will operate in goal for Man United as he looks to keep a clean sheet at Old Trafford. Harry Maguire, who is a concern ahead of this game, will function alongside Jonny Evans at the centre of ten Hag’s defence as they look to keep things solid at the back during the game.
Diogo Dalot will function as the right-back while Lisandro Martinez hopes to catch the eye on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will get the freedom to get forward and express themselves in the opponent’s half.
Midfield
Kobbie Mainoo and Casemiro will anchor the midfield for the Mancunian giants as they focus on winning the 50-50 battles in the middle of the park. The talented trio of Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo will play just ahead of them as part of ten Hag’s attack.
Fernandes would carry most of the creative responsibilities for the home team while Garnacho and Diallo hope to put their pace to good use on the flanks.
Scott McTominay and Christian Eriksen will have to settle for a spot on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.
Attack
Marcus Rashford will lead the line for the Red Devils up top. The English striker has to find a way to cause a few problems for the Fulham centre-backs this Friday night.
Joshua Zirkzee will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the latter stages if needed.
