According to Football Insider, Chelsea are planning to sell two more first-playing XI stars after the departure of Conor Gallagher. Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja are the two names that have emerged from the reports that the club will look to offload this summer.
Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja aren’t in plans for next season
Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja are both Chelsea academy graduates. However, it has been learnt that the club considers them surplus to requirements. Since neither of the two are in the plans of new boss Enzo Maresca for next season, the management will look to sell them.
Chalobah was surprisingly left out of the Blues’ pre-season squad. Though he managed to put in impressive performances at the end of the last season, Maresca isn’t betting on him. He featured in 17 games in the 2023-24 campaign and scored a goal.
Talking about Broja, he failed to start hitting the ground at Stamford Bridge. Hence, the English outfit loaned him out to Fulham last season in the second half. There he managed to find the back of the net only once in 21 Premier League games.
Conor Gallagher’s depart is confirmed
As Chelsea weren’t keen on using Conor Gallagher next season, they forced him out this summer. They didn’t include him in the pre-season squad and make their statement very clear. With Atletico Madrid constantly knocking on the doors, the player finally decided to exit. This move will allow the Blues to sign young striker Samu Omorodion.
Now that Gallagher’s case has been solved, the Blues will turn their focus towards the cases of Trevoh Chalobah and Armando Broja. The club will try to find potential buyers for the players and crack deals to raise important funds.
It will allow Chelsea to invest in other players, whom they can nourish with time. It will be interesting to see if the English outfit can manage to offload both players before 31st August or not.
