Aston Villa will welcome Arsenal at Villa Park this Saturday evening as they look to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Villans managed to secure a hard-fought 2-1 victory away at West Ham United recently which should give them a ton of confidence going into this game this weekend.
Unai Emery will set his men up in a 4-4-1-1 formation and could make one tweak to his starting XI for this clash. Diego Carlos will get a chance to impress from the start of this game while Matty Cash makes way for him and drops to the bench.
4-4-1-1 Aston Villa Predicted Lineup To Face Arsenal
Defence
Emiliano Martinez will play in goal for the West Midlands club after conceding one goal in his last league appearance. Diego Carlos will try to impress alongside Pau Torres at the centre of the Aston Villa backline as they look to keep the Arsenal attackers frustrated during the 90 minutes.
Ezri Konsa will fill in as the right-back while Lucas Digne hopes to put in a solid display on the other side as the left-back. Both of them need to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Matty Cash will offer cover for the right-back position on the bench.
Midfield
Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana will anchor the midfield for the Midlands outfit as they focus on making life difficult for the opposition at the centre of the park. John McGinn will try to put in a hard-working performance on the left flank while Leon Bailey looks to put his quickness to good use as the right-winger.
Morgan Rogers will operate in the number ten position and would have to carry some of the creative workload for the Villans in the opponent’s half.
Jacob Ramsey and Ross Barkley will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if needed.
Attack
Ollie Watkins will spearhead Aston Villa’s attack up top. The English talent would be eager to impress following a goalless performance versus the Hammers last weekend.
Jhon Duran will be available for selection on the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the latter stages if required.
