In a recent report, Sport stated that Barcelona have been offered a chance to sign Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman this summer. It has been claimed that the Catalan outfit have been given an opportunity to land the French wide player before the end of this transfer window.
Coman’s Good Run Of Form In German Football
Coman caught the eye at times with his performances on the right side of Bayern’s attack in the previous campaign. The 28-year-old scored five goals and secured three assists in 27 matches for the Bavarian club last season in various competitions.
However, the French talent missed a lot of games for Bayern due to injuries. Still, Coman deserves some credit for averaging 2.0 shots, 1.7 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per game in Bundesliga. He was even careful when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 87.9% in the German top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Allianz Arena will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Barcelona would struggle to get a deal done for him on the cheap this off-season.
What Will Coman Add To Barcelona Boss Hansi Flick’s Team?
Coman is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He has got the eye to play some decisive passes in the final third and can shoot the ball with venom and precision from long range.
The French sensation is primarily a right-winger but can also operate as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so by his manager. However, it remains to be seen whether he can make a smooth transition to life in La Liga if Barcelona end up signing him this summer.
Coman would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Barca boss Hansi Flick’s squad. He is good enough to serve as a decent, rotational piece at the Nou Camp in the coming seasons.
At 28, Coman is playing at the peak of his career and would be a decent acquisition for the Catalan giants this summer. We can expect him to add more goals to Flick’s frontline and help Barcelona challenge across all fronts over the next few years.
