In a recent report, Fanatik revealed that Aston Villa are hoping to land Besiktas playmaker Ernest Muci this summer. It has been stated that the Villans are eager to get a deal done for him and are willing to offer €10m to land the Albanian attacker this month.
Muci’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
The 23-year-old had a decent campaign at the Turkish club as he put in a few impressive performances for them in front of the opponent’s goal. Muci banged in five goals in 18 matches for Besiktas last season in various competitions.
The Albanian talent gave a good account of himself in the final third and deserves credit for averaging 3.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He was even accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 85.2% in the Turkish top tier (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Besiktas will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it tough for the Villans to recruit him on the cheap in this transfer period.
Should Aston Villa Boss Unai Emery Bring Muci On Board?
Muci is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball in the opponent’s half. He can shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. The Albanian sensation has also got the vision to create some inviting chances for others around him on the offensive end of the field. He mainly operates as an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a left-sided wide player or as a centre-forward if needed.
We can expect Muci to inject more firepower into Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery’s frontline. He has added a few goals to his game but there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of the Premier League if the Villans manage to snap him up this summer.
At 23, the best is yet to come from Muci, so Emery should focus on bringing Muci on board before the end of this transfer window. He has what it takes to help the West Midlands club compete across all fronts in the coming seasons.
