In a recent report, Turkish news outlet Aslinda mentioned that Aston Villa are eager to land Besiktas playmaker Ernest Muci this summer. It has been revealed that the Villans are keen on bringing the Albanian talent to Villa Park this month.
Muci’s Impressive Form In Turkish Football
Muci managed to shine at times in the Turkish Super Lig after he put in a few impressive displays for them in the final third. The 23-year-old scored four goals in 17 appearances for Besiktas last season in multiple competitions.
The Tirane-born talent was a consistent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 3.2 shots, 1.2 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game in the Turkish Super Lig. He was even been tidy with his ball distribution, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 85.2% in the Turkish top flight (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Besiktas will expire in the summer of 2027. Thus, the Villans would have to launch a big offer if they are serious about signing Muci this summer.
What Will Muci Bring To Aston Villa?
Muci is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make some dangerous runs with the ball in the final third. He is proficient at finding some space for himself to get some strikes in at goal and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The Albanian talent has also got the vision to orchestrate some inviting chances for others around him in and around the opponent’s penalty box. However, he might need time to adapt to the physical style and high intensity of Premier League football.
Muci is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also serve as a centre-forward or as a left-sided wide player if told to do so by his manager. The Albanian would no doubt bring more goals and creativity to Aston Villa head coach Unai Emery’s attack. He is good enough to serve as a good, rotational piece in the West Midlands club‘s squad next season.
At 23, Muci has the potential to be a world-class player in his position someday. Therefore, Emery would be wise to try everything in his power to get the Albanian sensation on board in this summer transfer period.
