In a recent report, Calciomercato claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are set to compete with Chelsea for Juventus winger Federico Chiesa this summer. It is understood that Spurs could face competition from the Blues along with Napoli and Roma in pursuit of the Italian wide player this off-season.
Chiesa’s Impressive Form In Italian Football Last Season
Chiesa had a decent campaign at the Allianz Stadium recently after he managed to put in a handful of productive displays for them on the left side of Juve’s attack. The 26-year-old registered ten goals and secured three assists in 37 matches for the Turin outfit last season across all fronts.
The Italy international was a reliable performer on the offensive end of the field as he averaged 2.3 shots, 1.6 key passes, 1.2 crosses and 1.1 dribbles per 90 minutes in Serie A. He even distributed possession relatively well after making 77.3% of his attempted passes in top-flight football (stats via whoscored).
Chiesa’s current deal at the Turin club will run out at the end of next season which could give Tottenham a chance to sign him on the cheap later this year.
