In a recent report, journalists Danny Rust and Dean Jones stated that Tottenham Hotspur are eyeing a late move for Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze this summer. It has been claimed that Spurs are hoping to move in for the England international before the end of this transfer period.
Eze’s Impressive Run Of Form In The Premier League
Eze enjoyed a decent campaign at the London club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them on the offensive end of the field. The 26-year-old scored 11 goals and grabbed six assists in 31 appearances for Crystal Palace last season on all fronts.
The London-born talent has been a decent performer for the Eagles in the final third based on his average of 3.1 shots, 2.0 key passes, 1.3 crosses and 2.6 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He was even been accurate when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 83.7% in league football (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Selhurst Park will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Spurs to get a deal done for him on the cheap later this year.
Is Eze A Good Choice For Tottenham Hotspur Boss Angelos Postecoglu?
Eze is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few driving runs with the ball out on the flanks. He can shoot the ball with venom and accuracy from long range and has got the vision to engineer a few clear-cut chances for his teammates in the final third.
We can expect Eze to add more firepower to Tottenham Hotspur boss Angelos Postecoglu’s frontline. He is good enough to compete for a regular starting place at the North London club in the coming seasons.
Eze is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also function as a left-winger if told to do so. He would no doubt enhance the quality of Tottenham‘s match-day squad ahead of the new campaign. At 26, Eze is about to enter his prime soon and has got a wealth of experience in Premier League football. All in all, the English playmaker would be a decent choice for the North London giants to pursue this summer.
