In a recent report, Sport claimed that Real Madrid starlet Arda Guler is on the radar of AC Milan. It has been mentioned that the Milan giants are eyeing a move to secure the services of the Turkish talent from Los Blancos in this summer transfer window.
Guler’s Impressive Rise At The Santiago Bernabeu Stadium
The 19-year-old managed to catch the eye at times for the Madrid giants in the previous campaign when he put in a few productive displays for them on the offensive end of the pitch. Guler found the back of the net on six occasions in 12 matches for Los Blancos last season across various competitions.
The Ankara-born talent has been a decent performer in the opponent’s half as he averaged 1.5 shots and 1.1 dribbles per game in La Liga. He was even excellent when distributing the ball after making 88.2% of his attempted passes in the Spanish first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at the Madrid club will expire in the summer of 2029. Thus, there is no immediate need for Carlo Ancelotti to cash in on him as he proved his worth as a useful contributor at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last season.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Cut Guler Loose?
Guler is proficient at creating some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and can be a hard man to stop when he is running at full swing in the opponent’s half. The Ankara-born talent is primarily a right-winger but can also operate in the number ten position or as a box-to-box midfielder if told to do so by his manager.
Guler has served as a good, rotational piece in Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s match-day squad thus far. Hence, the Madrid outfit would be wise to keep hold of the Turkish youngster beyond this summer.
At 19, Guler has the potential to be a generational talent, so Los Blancos should not consider cutting him loose in this transfer period. Ancelotti would be better off retaining his services for the long run as he could help the Madrid club win a lot of major trophies over the next decade.
