In a recent tweet, Bild journalist Christian Falk stated that Real Madrid have got a concrete interest in Liverpool playmaker Trent Alexander-Arnold this summer. It has been mentioned that Los Blancos are eyeing a move to bring the England international to the Spanish capital.
Alexander-Arnold’s Impressive Form At Merseyside Last Season
Alexander-Arnold had a decent campaign at Liverpool as he managed to put in a series of impressive displays for them in the Premier League. The 25-year-old scored three goals and picked up nine assists in 37 matches for the Reds last season in various competitions.
The English full-back was a consistent performer in the final third based on his average of 1.4 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, 1.5 clearances, 1.7 shots, 2.3 key passes and 1.0 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after completing 79.6% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).
His current contract at Liverpool will run out at the end of next season which could open the door for Real Madrid to sign him on the cheap later this year.
Is Alexander-Arnold A Dream Signing For Real Madrid?
Alexander-Arnold is a pure striker of the ball and can create a lot of chances for his teammates in the final third. He is a strong runner with the ball as well and can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top.
The English talent can get stuck in with some solid tackles as well but can get caught out of position when defending inside his half. He is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a central midfielder if told to do so.
Alexander-Arnold would no doubt enhance the quality of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s first XI. He is more than capable of earning a regular first-team spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and could help Los Blancos challenge for a lot of major honours over the next few years.
At 25, Alexander-Arnold has his peak years ahead of him which makes him a dream signing for the Madrid giants to pull off before the end of this summer transfer window.
