Liverpool Made Offer For This Galatasaray Star: Good Pick By The Reds?

According to Turkish publication Ajanspor, Liverpool are keen on signing Galatasaray striker Baris Alper Yilmaz this summer. The Premier League club have even submitted a bid worth £25 million to acquire the signature of the player.

Baris Alper Yilmaz has done well so far

Baris Alper Yilmaz joined Galatasaray in the summer of 2021. Since then, he has been a key member of the squad. He has performed consistently well and has managed to establish himself as one of the best attackers in the league.

Yilmaz featured in 55 games, netting seven goals and providing 12 assists. He averaged 0.5 shots, 0.6 key passes, and 0.7 dribbles per game (stats via whoscored). He played in multiple roles for Galatasaray last season.

The Turkish international can dribble, provide key passes and do clinical finishing. With a good aerial presence, he is a valuable attacker. When it comes to providing defensive contributions, he doesn’t shy away from tackling and winning the ball back.

A good recruitment for Liverpool

Liverpool have been slow in their approach in the transfer market so far. But everyone expects them to pick up pace and sign multiple players to strengthen their squad for next season.

The Reds’ offer for Baris Alper Yilmaz makes sense as he is an extremely talented attacker. His versatility up front will add depth to the offensive unit. As the player can take up multiple roles, it will allow Arne Slot to rotate the players well.

Yilmaz was impressive in the recently concluded Euro Cup 2024. Though he didn’t score a goal, his contributions on the field cannot be ignored. It indicates that the player is capable of performing at the highest level.

It remains to be seen what the 24-year-old reacts to Liverpool’s offer. Moving to Anfield should be a good move for him as he will be able to take his career a step forward.
