In a recent report, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that France international Adrien Rabiot is waiting for Real Madrid to move in for him this summer. It is understood that the talented midfielder is waiting for an approach from Los Blancos with Liverpool and Newcastle United also showing interest in recruiting him on a free transfer this off-season.
Rabiot’s Impressive Form In Italian Football
Rabiot had a solid campaign at the Allianz Stadium last season when he put in a handful of impressive displays at the centre of Juventus’ midfield. The 29-year-old found the back of the net five times and secured three assists in 35 matches for the Turin outfit last season across all competitions.
The French sensation was a positive influence at both ends of the field based on his average 1.9 tackles, 0.8 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 1.2 shots, 0.8 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Serie A. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from midfield after completing 84.4% of his attempted passes in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Rabiot is a free agent at the moment. Thus, it makes sense for Los Blancos to move in for him as he would be a good option for them in the short term.
Should Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti Go For Rabiot?
Rabiot is a solid tackler of the ball and can read the danger well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing his lines when the opposition are on the front foot and can shoot the ball with venom from long range.
The French talent has got the vision to orchestrate a few decent chances for his teammates in the final third and is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as a defensive midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if needed.
Rabiot would add more quality and depth to Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s midfield department. He has what it takes to earn a regular starting spot at the Madrid club in the coming years.
At 29, Rabiot is playing in his prime and is a free agent which makes him a worthy target for Los Blancos to pursue in this transfer window. Hence, Ancelotti should go for a player of his quality this summer.
