In a recent report, Alfredo Pedulla mentioned that Everton have expressed their interest in Hellas Verona full-back Jackson Tchatchoua. It has been claimed that the Toffees have still not made an official offer to sign the Cameroonian defender this summer.
Tchatchoua’s Impressive Form In Serie A Last Season
Tchatchoua had a solid campaign at the Italian club as he was responsible for putting in a series of impressive displays on the right side of their backline. The 22-year-old secured a couple of assists in 27 appearances for Hellas Verona last season in various competitions.
The Cameroonian talent has proven his worth as a reliable defender at the back by averaging 1.5 tackles, 0.9 interceptions and 1.5 clearances per game in Serie A. He even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 77.3% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).
Tchatchoua’s current deal at Hellas Verona will run out in the summer of 2027 which could make it difficult for Everton to land him on a cut-price deal this off-season.
Should Everton Boss Sean Dyche Get Tchatchoua On Board?
Tchatchoua is a good tackler of the ball and can scan the danger well to make some important interceptions for his team on the defensive end of the field. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the front foot.
The Cameroonian talent is a decent passer of the ball as well but has to find a way to maintain his good form in Premier League football if the Toffees manage to bring him to Goodison Park in this summer transfer window.
At 22, Tchatchoua has the potential to be a future star at the Merseyside club. He would undoubtedly enhance the quality of Everton boss Sean Dyche’s defence. The Cameroonian sensation might even help the Toffees cope with fixture congestion better in the coming seasons.
With all things considered, Dyche should focus on going all out to get Tchatchoua on board before the end of this transfer period. However, the jury is still out on whether he would be able to adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League if Everton manage to snap him up this summer.
