In a recent report, Tipsbladet revealed that Everton are facing stiff competition for Martin Braithwaite this summer. It has been stated that the Toffees would have compete with Southampton and Leicester City in pursuit of the Denmark international.
Braithwaite’s Impressive Form In Spanish Football
Braithwaite enjoyed a solid campaign at Espanyol last season when he put in a lot of fruitful displays as the focal point of their attack. The 33-year-old scored 22 times and secured three assists in 45 matches for the Spanish outfit in the previous campaign across multiple competitions.
The Danish talent managed to prove his worth as a consistent goal-getter in La Liga 2 last season. However, only time will tell whether he can maintain his good form in the Premier League if Everton manage to win the race for his services.
Braithwaite is a free agent at the moment, so it is only logical for the Toffees to try and recruit him on a free transfer before the end of this transfer window.
Everton Are Facing Stiff Competition For Braithwaite: Is He Worth The Fight?
Braithwaite is proficient at finding some space for himself to get a few strikes in at goal. He has got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet.
The Danish talent can chip in by scoring and creating his fair share of goals up top. He is primarily a centre-forward but can also fill in as a left-winger if asked to do so. We can expect him to add more quality to Everton head coach Sean Dyche’s first XI.
At 33, Braithwaite has got a couple of good years left in him to play at his feet. Hence, the Toffees would be wise to go all out to sign him on a free transfer this summer. However, Braithwaite might struggle to cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football.
Still, the Merseyside club should focus on offering him a short-term deal if they are planning to improve their frontline ahead of the new campaign. All in all, Braithwaite would be well worth the fight, so Everton should think about going for him soon.
